In an unusualrebuke, the consultancy's partners have voted out Kevin Sneader

ON FEBRUARY 24th the Financial Times reported that 650 senior partners at McKinsey votedKevin Sneader, the consultancy's managing partner since 2018, out of office. The Scotsman'spredecessorstypically served twoconsecutive terms. The vote is seen as arebukeof his handling of a series of crises,the bulk ofwhichpredatedhistenure, most recently over McKinsey's work for opioid producers in America.

Sneadership

显然，没有这么一个词。经济学人（The Economist）在标题中总喜欢玩梗，这里应该是将Leadership故意改造成Sneadership，因为被换掉的这位领导叫做Kevin Sneader.

cast off

表示“抛弃；丢弃”，英文解释为“to get rid of sth because you no longer want or need it”举个：

rebuke

1）作名词，表示“谴责；指责；批评”，举个：

His statementsdrew a stinging rebukefrom her.

他的申明受到了她严厉的谴责。

2）作动词，表示“谴责”，英文解释为“If you rebuke someone, you speak severely to them because they have said or done something that you do not approve of.”举个：

Herebukedthem for not passing those bills within 3 days.

他谴责他们未在3天内通过那些法案。

predecessor

predecessor表示“前任，前辈；原有事物，前身”，英文解释为“someone who had a job or a position before someone else, or something that comes before another thing in time or in a series”。

successor表示“继任者，接替者；继承人；接替的事物”，英文解释为“someone or something that comes after another person or thing”举个：

This range of computers is very fast, but their successors will be even faster.

这个系列的电脑速度很快，但它的换代产品速度会更快。

consecutive

表示“连续的，不间断的”，英文解释为“numbers or periods of time follow one after the other without any interruptions”举个：
