For news team well let's kick it offs I would like to think the audience for joining our web our today why s dt is critical in green and brown fieldd s and rise projects now we're really excited to dive into this topic but first a couple of housekeeping items today's thirty minute web cast is being recorded and all registergist will be sent the link to the recording and as well the presentation questions can be asked at any time be at the chat function on the side of your screen and I'LL jump back in to host q and a at the end one thing to note there's a little toggle button right under the space where you type in your questions you can submit your questions as anonymous or you can feature your name so don't be shy to engage with us and we'LL also push out a couple of poll questions for the audience to day.All right guys I I'm especially happy today for two reasons first reason I have about six inches of snow in my backyard so that makes me very happy second our this is our last live weapon r of twenty twenty five I can't believe how fast this year has flown by but don't worry all of our great weapon RS are available on demand for you to peruuse over the holiday season and we will include the link to our play list in our follow up email in to that in twenty twenty six we are kicking off q with our innovate to rise webadar with Microsoft on how to power your AI with the right data at the right time.
01:36
With that I would like to introduce my esteem colleague our CTO of North America doctor steel r bei he was going to be leading our session today and with that I will pass the floor to you steel.Thank you m Miranda what a great great introduction I hope I can keep up that energy and momentum and good to hear about the snow luckily ah here in new York city there's there's no snow which is a good thing all right but with that I will jump right in um I before I really get into the topic at hand I want to give you all a ah brief overview of s MP just so you know who we are I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this we are we'have been in business all the thirty years and our specialty is data transformation and data migration for SAP and other non SAP p erps.
02:36
Traditionally we do a lot of work in the m a space but also with rise migration and system optimization and also with non SAP to SAP type migration we'VE been in business over thirty years we're about fifteen hundred people globally and have completed over fifteen thousand successful projects with our software based approach.
03:03
Okay additionally moving on.We have a great.Relationship with our colleagues at SAP you he see here to brief quotes from yon giilig and Thomas Vista to very highly placed individuals at SAP essentially singing the praises of SN at our annual trade show which is called transformation world and you know the key factor here is they see us as a key enabling technology to.Migrate the customers to rise to helped them get the most out of the platform helped them take advantage of AI and get ready for all the future new exciting things that SAP has in store for them ah typically we work in both or across the green blue and brown field continuum I know today we're going to specifically focus on why you still want selected data transition for green and brown fieldel type projects but I just want to briefly touch on on all of them you know from our point of view it's not an either or.
04:21
It's a continuum between.Minimal or no transformation called out a brown field to incrementally more and more and more getting to the selective blue field.Arena and then all the way to minimal transformation.Being greenfield but no history now we do all suffer. From a problem here is that these terms are you know significantly over generalized and they they lead us to a.
05:00
A little bit of.Imper IMP preciseness in in describing what we're trying to do for example I may say greenfield and I'm everybody says oh.You know we're not doing greenfield what we are doing greenfield well what is it you're actually doing is it open items is it any transformation why are you going to greenfield this is the most important question custom may say well I'm going to greenfield because I want to adopt a standard template I want one of the industry solutions or yeah yeah you know many of the SI have a best practice template that might include an or structure configuration chart of accounts and maybe you want to adopt that that's a great reason to go refiel but.It means you're going to have a lot of transformation.Even though it's called greenfield into that new template.
06:03
Same thing with brownfield you know very very rarely can a customer move in a purely lift and shift.Approach there's changes to the data that has to happen and we'LL talk more about that but the benefit of s andp is we handle that full continuum with as little or as much transformation as you want.Okay we have wide array of customers and partners as I said over fifteen thousand successful projects just some of the major ones you see right heredobe recently went live there in a project that only took nine months for one of the largest ERP systems on the planet over one hundred and forty terbbys growing at a rate of ten terbbos per month. With minimize downtime. All done with the s andp software Pepsi large global enterprise systems all over the planet for all those different brands and lines of business all migrating with SNP Microsoft largest software company on the planet.
07:13
Uses s andp to migrate their brim system which is their SAP system that handles all the subscription renewals for office Xbox and so on and it's tremendous tremendous volume again highly downtime minimized approach and they were able to achieve that with.S andp and you see here Microsoft and IBM not only are they partners but their also customers using s andp to do their own internal migrations a bunch of others here we have a lot of success stories on our website if you're looking for further information there I would direct you to to the s andp group dot com website where there are right UPS for all of these but and many many many more.
08:03
OK.And wide array of partners as well big partner ecosystem and it's key to remember that seventeen.Out of the top twenty.System integrators for SAP.As scored by garter in the magic quadrant if you look at their magic quadrant for SAP system integrators seventeen out of the top twenty use s andp sulphur so that means we are perfectly capable and have existing partnerships with all of your system integrators on top of that seven out of those seventeen brand their own solution.As.Ah built on top of SNP soul so for example when you hear of rapid move or smart brown field or brown fieldd plus or shell field from any of those system integrators that's really s andp inside.
09:07
Delivering that.Okay so some of the most important reasons customers use s MP are shown here number one.We have we deliver a faster time to value.Just think of that Adobe example nine months goal live for one hundred and nearly one hundred and fifty terbide system unheard of and because we decod the data migration from the system modernization we just migrate the data.Into an already re platformed claified the system which greatly reduces the amount of time that leads to minimum disruption we also have downtime minimization techniques that can get you to single digit hours of downtime.Ah total cost of ownership and overall project risk reduction and time reduction through a high degree of automation delivered by software.
10:12
Since we can migrate as little as much history as possible it gives greater user acceptance because all the data they need to do their job is already going to be there risk minimization through guided procedures and order the certification we're the only one that can all offer order the certification by the world's leading auditors of in y and p w to c to say that if you transform with s andp you're going to get a functioning system that will pass orderit. And ultimately high flexibility where we can go live at any time of the year we don't have to wait for closing of the fiscal year and so on to be able to do a data migration and ultimately that leads to one hundred percent success rate.
11:00
Of those fifteen thousand projects that's a hundred percent success rate. And really? No one can offer that okay. This is all delivered through our kiano platform.Which includes if any of you are familiar with sapp crystal bridge crystal bridges now a part of kiano platform and it's broken into three major components foundation which is our analysis our business agility scan to help you identify the things that is slowing down your migration slowing down your your m a slowing down your closing cycle and fix them move which does the data migration for both SAP to SAP.Ah eccc to s as well as non SAP the SAP migration and then manage the ongoing use cases for thecommissioning cloud data integration verificationration and so on.
12:03
Now we get to the matter at hand really the topic of the.Discussion today I gave already a brief overview of green and brown and blue but let's let's peel the onion there a little bit I will reiterate that we all suffer from the oldest simplification of those terms.Take brown field for example lift and shift type data migration well. You may say we can accomplish that with standard tools. And is'true however one thing you'LL notice when you run the standard migration tools on brown field you will notice that there is data that will not pass.Muster for the migration.Although it's working in ECC what does that tell you tells you that there's data. That is required for the migration that is not required just a normal running of ECC.
13:05
So there's things that you have to fix now in many cases you don't want to have to fix all of that in this source system. Before you migrate it might not even be possible it might be so much of it that you really can'T.With s andp we can fix that data on the fly during the migration so for example. The email address this is required now in an s form migration but it's not required to be a valid email address with their you know properly formatd at sign and so on in eecc you could stick any text you want in there but in s is required why because you know they want to send the the the customer or the ship or notifications that this has been ship or it's ready to ship he has tracking number this type of thing you can't do that without a valid email. We have the ability to insert a valid email address in there.
14:03
As the data is being migrated. And for all the other data elements as well. That you don't have to go fix it prior to the data migration also we can do all of that brown field migration. With minimize downtime.Getting to low single digit hours of downturn even if it's cloud based on prem to cloud on prem to rise cloud to cloud all possible even heterogeneous systems even going as far back as for at six sea.To astrohanna. All possible with the s andp approach and then we get into the green field.Question.And this suffers even more from the overvis simplification of the terminology temple open it as migration well unfortunately it's a lot more than that there is typically more and more.
15:04
Amount of transformation you need to do in these quote greenfield migrations very few are simplistic open item moves. Then back to that question why do you want greenfield in the first place or we want a best practice template we want industry standard many industry groups for example I'm thinking right now of chemical industry there's chemical industry groups that publish a best practice chart of accounts that you might want to use because it's been you know looked at by their OS and their accountants to say that you can get all the required reporting.Out of this chart this is the best practice chart for the for the chemicals business you may want to take advantage of that well okay so that's more than just an open on'migration think of the account number the course element in SAP.
16:00
How many places is that that's literally in thousands of places across the entire system do you know where all of that is can you be sure that you can get all of it.Very very difficult and that's just a cost element. But that is specifically what is built in into our software the knowledge of where of all of that is so you can set up in the caniano platform what we call a global rule.Attached at the account number or course element level and then anywhere that course element appears it will go through that old to new.Mapping transformation this is a huge time saver and really an enabler of a true value ED.Greenfield right one of the problems of greenfield and jokingly I tell this to all the customers I believe everybody should go greenfield it's the best solution for everybody. All you have to do is take ten years and spend a billion dollars and you should go greenfield you'LL get exactly what you want.
17:08
Now if you don't want to take ten years and a billion dollars we have an answer for you selective data migration is the answer for you because it let's you move in to that greenfield template. That standard chart that standard payment terms document types and so on.But.Moving your old data into that structure so now your open items are now attributized to the correct account numbers to the correct document types to the correct new cost center profit center structure or units writing structure as part of this green fieldel migration we move the data even that which is going to move open items oh great how do you define what's open turns out there's no standard definition even SAP standard definition.
18:00
Th does not work for the customer because just for example on purchasing documents purcha orders there's a flag of final invoice. That is required for the SAP definition of closed. What I'LL tell you is ninety nine percent of the custom as we see neglect to set that final invoice indicator. It's not really needed to to pay the vendor finally or receive all the goods it's like an extra accounting step that a lot of people don'T.Don't do so guess what if you're using the standard definition of closed. Then everything's going to look open in your system. We have that built into our software not only do we have the best practice definition of closed we have the ability to change it and flex have the flexibility to to adapt it based on your definition.Of clothes maybe you don't use that flag maybe use a different flag maybe you have an extra canceleded step all of this can be taken into account and there's just one of the reasons why you need selective data transition and s andp in your green and brown fieldd migration.
19:15
Because we allow you to get.Even just at open item data into all the right places in the new greenfield template that you want to go into. Now what does this do for you this allows you to land in rise or in your new platform with everything in the correct structure you can use the SNP four levels of automated verification to make sure everything got into the right structure verify your data migration. So that means then you can start taking advantage of all the new features in rise in btp ah right away without that you'd still have many steps of data clean up data reorganization eliminating unused data eliminating unused customizations before you can start taking advantage of that.
20:10
As part of our analysis both in the brown blue and green.Areas of the spectrum. We look at your custom data. And we'LL tell you what's being used what's not being used and even though you may want to get rid of a lot of that.Very rare can you get rid of all of it.We say there's no such thing as clean core it's really only cleaner core you can only get cleaner. There there may be things.Customs that you have that are mission critical. They help define and differentiate who you are can't get rid of that stuff that's what allows you to bring that extra value to the customer.手。That is customizations we want to bring we can bring those over in it the s NP approach and still give you greenfield but with that little bit of customization that you need that makes you unique.
21:13
But.Unnecessary customization for example you know.AR reporting I can't imagine anybody needs customization in AR reporting the standard AR management processes and AR reporting are enough for pretty much every customer we'VE ever seen and SAP did such a great job building that in there why would you want to go.Goal customization there.Well this is things we want to get out as part of the migration and we can do that. And if there there might be some data in there though that you need we can take that data and insert it in.To.The SAP standard tables so now you'VE gotten rid of that customization but there's some of the important data that you were able to brand and enrich the SAP standard data model with it so now you're still getting the benefit of that.
22:13
We can also take it and move it outside of SAP to things in rise to btp and business data class so you can have your your your your apps still work with it so that's all those types of benefits that you get by using selective data transition with your green.Field and brown field pipe projects and of course.Selective data blue field type product where you get to pick and choose what you want also come into play and this slide that you see is important in understanding that I think of that as a slider you can move across the top.To pick way you are are you more to the green are you more to the brown are you somewhere in the middle it's really.
23:01
Never won a.Or the other it's it's a spectrum it's a continuum you's somewhere in the middle there from the most purious brown where you don't change anything very rarely can you even do that the migration itself is going to blow up on certain data in consistcies that you're going to have to fix or you're going to have a downtime requirement or you're going to want the verification that s andp could bring or you might just want a time slice or to take advantage of one or two new minor new functionalities we can do all of that and still keep you very much to the brown field side of the spectrum.Or you want a brand new chart a brand new org structure all of that.But.Bringing a certain amount of history or aligning your open items to that new structure again or folding in the customizations all possible with the s NP approach.
24:00
啊。Now I know we are getting towards the end I'd like to ask our team if we have any questions or comments and invite anybody here I feel free pleased to.嗯。Which.Yeah at any time I know ah mirandda is offering a free scan and vision session number of seats ah available for customers that might be interested they can take advantage of a scan envision session with s andp where we collect over three hundred thousand business and technical data points on your system to help you profile plan and predict that project and I see ah Miranda coming in so please take advantage of that offer follow up with a DEMO or more info on the success stories let's talk about that where're we're at your service and I'LL to us back to Miranda if she'd like to jump in on that offer or any of the questions.
25:05
Yeah they thank you s stealel your rocket and rollland um I actually kind of wanted to share some of the poll results which I thought were're very interesting so number of the audience today said what the biggest challenges for SAP migration is data volume and complexity and also business conttinuity doing during the migration and the greatest risk that people are seeing with not using the selected data strategy is the loss of historical data needed for compliance um we did throw a question out there and this might be a good seway into ah kiano crossway to steel but for the folks that don't have SAP systems and they need a migrate to SAP some of the top ERP systems out there are oracqua and gd edwardds and another other so so maybe you can share some insights to our recent northrop grum in success story.Yes we have the capability to migrate the non SAP data into SAP now it could be as you mentioned Miranda a net new SAP type and installul or it could be an existing SAP system or it could be part of a move to s that was northrops case they had ECC systems they also had non SAP systems so.
26:22
In the first wave they moved all the business that was on ECC into s and then the smaller product lines that were on these non SAP systems they rolled them in in waves into s four and now they greatly simplified their landscape. They sped up their reporting their closing cycle increased compliance while they were able to migrate all of that history you know they have a MIG a requirement to keep all history.Right in aircraft you have to be able to go back.
27:01
To the beginning. And find every warranty every bit of maintenance that was performed and so on there's not a five VI a cuddle for a ten year cut offff you have to have everything so we had the ability to migrate all the historical non sapp data.Into this new s target for them as well.Along with their their SAP data that was migrated in.Powerful it's a it's a great story and it's live on our websites we'LL make sure the audience has the link to that success story to read right still we have a question from the audience we know we want to take advantage of the new SAP functionality yes but we're a little bit stuck in the analysis prolysis and therefore haven't migrated yet how can I get a clear roadmap to convince my management that we should make the move.Well you know.
28:02
Sentp analysis that'for you all that we're talking about it's a great way to start because you get three hundred thousand actionable data points it's not like ah oh here is ten thousand page power point and Excel document go figure it out no this is highly focused on the things you need.To unlock the value in your migration and that helps you build the case of how and why you want to do this right the last thing you want to do is say oh we're going to do we don't know really what to do so we're going to just do a brown field move well and then you take it to the CFO and what do they say okay guys we're going to spend all this money take all this disruption and down time and we're going to get exactly what we have right now.Well that's you'better go rethink that and starting with the analysis that that we're offering is a great way to jumps start that process with minimal time and minimal risk.
29:00
Excellent steel we are at the top of thirteen minutes um first I would like to think the audience for a joining our weapon are today and be submitting the polls and engaging with us so that is great I encourage everyone out there to follow us on linkedin or Youtube for more videos and to stay up to date with all the activities that we are running um as a company and with that we have we will prepare the email for you guys with all the wonderful links and the link to our presentation today and with that I would just like to conclude and thank you for joining our weapon are today.
